Fauna is an agency in Bristol creating transformational employee experiences across the globe.
The founders, Hattie, Kate and Liz, came to us to create a visual identity that celebrates every step of the employee journey from hire to retire.
Our approach was inspired by the concept of desire paths—naturally worn paths caused by people making their way from one point to another. This was supported by a palette of textures and colours that invited experimentation and celebrated the idiosyncrasies of every employee.
The high contrast construction of Commercial Type's Ergon felt like an apt extension of the desire path concept.
I wanted to go one step further and really connect the logo to a sense of journey through the introduction of a custom ligature connecting the 'a' and the 'u'.
From the infinitely customisable colour pairings to the desire paths and textures, every part of the visual identity became a celebration of the uniqueness of every employee.
The bespoke, branded icons are no exception. These intentionally inexact forms are inspired by relief printing and are designed to represent the perfect imperfections of people.
