Shortlisted for Best Brand Transformation 2025
The Vroom rebrand was shortlisted by the Management Today Transformation Awards, competing against Wolff Olins and Lloyds.
Vroom is a digital marketing agency based in Dublin. They were looking to elevate their brand and stand out against the competition.
My solution: a bright yellow astro-pigeon as brand mascot. Colm (Irish for 'pigeon') combines the natural way-finding instincts of a pigeon with a sense of exploration offered by his space helmet—embodying the Trusted Guide persona we developed as part of the brand strategy.
I led the creative concept, design development and full brand implementation—from defining the brand strategy through to creating Colm and the complete visual system.
What's the point of a fun mascot if you can't leverage it to make a brand truly unique?
Welcome to the 'Vroomiverse', a retro-sci-fi-inspired frontier for Colm and Vroom to call home.
It provided endless opportunities to develop branded collateral only Vroom could own.
I was responsible for the ideation and illustration of all parts of the Vroom brand and the 'Vroomiverse'.
The project was a huge success, driving a 34% increase in client acquisition for Vroom.
